Week 2: September 26th, 2018- Instructions and Identity

ttiinc.com
- We told each other about the instructions you had prepared, as specialists on something.
- We practised the structure "I've been told about..." to talk about what your classmate had told you.
- We practised predicting information, listening for general ideas and for specific details with a listening on Life Events. We also used it to practise listening for reference.
- In preparation for the homework, we revised the use of subordinating conjunctions in connecting past activities: before, after, as soon as, since, until and while.
- We revised the use of narrative tenses with a multiple choice exercise.
Homework:
1. Do the exercise on past tenses of the handout.
2. Choose two or three moments in your past, join them and tell the story in the past. Make notes and record three or four minutes with the story they make. Record it and send it to your teacher for feedback.

nopccommerce.com
- Today, we got to know each other a little bit:
1. We had a look at the organisation of the school and you were given the student leaflet.
2. We also had an overview of the structure of the course and were given the course description.
3. You started interviewing each other with a profile sheet.
4. We did the activity of the Information in the circle.
5. You got a photocopy with language strategies and the answer to ex. 2: how to  give instructions and check understanding. This is the key: 4,6,1,5,3,2
Homework:
- Prepare a set of instructions to do something you know how to do very well. Write six steps, as shown in exercise 2, in NOTE FORM, that is, only words, not sentences. With those notes, you'll be telling a classmate about how to do it.

Welcome to Shake Up Your Skills!

giphy.com

Welcome to this new blog.

  • It is designed to help you work and follow the course you are registered in.
  • I'll be posting a brief account of each class and photos or interesting links related to our course. It can also work as a repository of all our activities to make up, in a way, for the absence of a book.

I hope that the blog helps you throughout the year and that you end up really shaking up your skills!
Have a very good year!
