Week 22: February 26th, 2020- Acorn mediation

- We warmed up by telling each other about the little-heard-of piece of news that you had chosen to read about.
- We saw a video on how to plant trees so that we could extract interesting vocabulary on the subject.
- We read our mediation task and checked the school info and Guía bellotera to build up your mediation production. You mediated the information to your teacher in couples.

Homework:
- Translate into English the Spanish version of the Calvin & Hobbes comic strip you received.
- Investigate a little bit about the links (any) between NASA and Spain. This is in preparation for our video activity next day. Read a little bit about it and be prepared to tell the class about what you've found.

Week 20: February 12th: Cartoons and Parasite

- We exchanged the different cartoons that we had chosen and explained why we liked them.
- We saw the trailer of Parasite as a warm-up for our reading/speaking exercise on Bonilla a la vista crisps.
- We practised how to say no in English with the phrases for careful suggestions we had on our handout.
- We talked a little bit about mediation but are preparing an exercise on acorns!

Homework:
- Have a look at a newspaper in English and choose an article you find interesting. Try to understand well, write down key words and then record a text in which you tell what the article is about. Don't read out parts of it, but instead rebuild the text to tell me the most important bits of it and why you found it interesting. Record about 4 or 5 minutes and send it to me.
