Week 29: April 24th, 2019- Earth and Book Days

OneEarthFilmFestival
- We exchanged information about our activities of the holidays.
- We talked about Greta Thunberg and her campaign to fight climate change and how her Asperger Syndrome has helped her communicate even better. There is a novel by Mark Haddon titled The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time that is not difficult to read and tells the story from the point of view of a boy with this condition.
- We were divided in two groups: one was going to identify the main ideas of the video and the other pick up vocabulary to adopt: words or structures we understand, we don't use but we would like to start using.
- We saw Greta Thunberg's speech to European members of parliament last April 16th.
- We also saw a part of Harrison Ford's speech in a Conservation International Meeting in 2018.
- And also saw a 2014 video of Leonardo Di Caprio talking to UN representatives.
- We finished the class honoring Book Day by listening to actor David Tenant reading Shakespeare's sonnet 18 and reading its translation into today's English.

Homework:
- Choose a book you have particularly liked and be prepared to tell your classmates about the book, the plot, the characters, the author and the reasons why you've picked it up.
- Remember May 8th is going to be our last class, so be ready to enjoy it!!
