Week 12: November 27th, 2019- Film vocabulary and more!

universal extras
- We warmed up with prompt cards to speak about different moments in the past.
- We did a listening about being an extra actor in films.
- We practised stress shifting in the sentence and how it conveys information.
- We did a couple of exercises on cinema related vocabulary 
- We completed a crossword on that vocabulary.

Homework:
- Have a look at the other side of the handout of today's listening and do the two exercises on adverbs.
- Pick up a work of art you like and be prepared to talk a little bit about it, about its author, its location, the reasons why you like it. It can be anything, a picture, but also a song, a photo, a book...

Remeber we have a number of activities around Christmas time, one of which is the design of a Christmas card. Here you have how to enter the competition.

Week 11: November 20th- Working on Yesterday

- We exchanged opinions about the film with the handout you had received.
- We did the Who's Who in Yesterday activity.
- We completed the gapped transcript of an interview with director Danny Boyle.
- We sang Yesterday.

Homework:
- I gave you some ideas to prepare a review of a film. This is the handout. The last part is the organisation your review should have. You can either record it in 3/4 minutes and send it to me or write it on the library's virtual wall, so that I can give you feedback in both cases.

Week 10: November 13th, 2019- XI Film Festival with Yesterday

- We tried to vote on the best Halloween story... but without luck, maybe next week!
- We exchanged some information about different aspects of the film Yesterday.
- You were given this worksheet to think about the film. We'll share our thoughts at the beginning of next day's class.
- We watched and enjoyed Yesterday, directed by Danny Boyle.

Week 9: November 6th, 2019- Finishing off our Halloween session and preparing for the film festival

we heart it
- We quickly remembered a few of our taboo words from last week.
- We also checked some structures we could adopt from last week's episode of IT Crowd, The Red Door.
- We wanted to vote on the best Halloween story on the wall. We promised that we were going to listen to them to be able to vote. Listen to Miguel Ángel, Patricia, Sarai and Arancha and let's vote!
- We corrected the verb tense revision handout and we practised them with the exercise Do I know you?
- We had a look at the trailer of our film for the Film Festival: Yesterday.
- We completed a gapped text with the lyrics of This is Halloween, by Marilyn Manson.


Homework:
- I gave you a handout with some vocabulary on films and cinema.
- Pick up one of these names, connected to the film Yesterday, and read something about it, so that you  are able to tell us next day before the film:
    - Ed Sheeran
    - Danny Boyle

    - Himesh Patel
    - The song Yesterday, by the Beatles.
